Don’t Leave Your PKD Code update until the last minute! The deadline is 31 December 2026

Are you running a business? Check whether your entry in the Central Register and Information on Economic Activity (CEIDG) contains the updated PKD 2025 codes. Entrepreneurs who started their business before 1 January 2025 and are still using codes based on the previous PKD 2007 classification should remember that they are required to update them. The deadline for adapting their registration is 31 December 2026.

The new Polish Classification of Business Activities – PKD 2025 – has been in force since 1 January 2025. It replaces the previous PKD 2007 classification. The changes are intended to bring the classification into line with current economic realities, including the development of new types of business activities and changes in the market.

The new classification has been used for business registrations since the beginning of 2025. Entrepreneurs registered in CEIDG before that date may continue using their existing codes during the transitional period. However, they should ensure that their codes are updated in accordance with the new classification no later than the end of 2026.

The change applies to entrepreneurs registered in CEIDG before 1 January 2025 whose entries still contain PKD 2007 codes. To check whether an update is required, simply use the business search tool available on the biznes.gov.pl portal.

If the designation “PKD 2007” appears next to your business activity codes, or there is no information indicating which classification is used, you should verify your entry and prepare to update it.

How to Update Your PKD Codes? The procedure is simple and free of charge. Just follow these steps:

1. Check your current CEIDG registration.
Visit the biznes.gov.pl portal and verify the PKD codes assigned to your business.

2. Find the corresponding codes in the new classification.
Use the PKD 2025 search tool provided by Statistics Poland (Główny Urząd Statystyczny – GUS):
https://klasyfikacje.stat.gov.pl/Pkd2025

3. Submit an application to amend your CEIDG registration (CEIDG-1).
You can update your registration: online via the biznes.gov.pl portal, in paper form at any municipal or town office in Poland.

It is worth remembering that updating your PKD codes to the new classification is completely free of charge. Entrepreneurs are also not required to submit separate applications to Statistics Poland, the tax office, the Social Insurance Institution (ZUS) or the Agricultural Social Insurance Fund (KRUS). Information about the change will be automatically forwarded to these institutions.

The deadline for updating existing CEIDG registrations to comply with the PKD 2025 classification is 31 December 2026. Check your business details now and complete the update well in advance to avoid a last-minute rush at the end of the year.
